The rescue crew breaks the elevator. It has fallen from the 17th floor to the 1st floor.

In the elevator, 34-year-old worker Jang Mo and 32-year-old Kang Mo were found dead.

The elevator was being replaced.

It is an old apartment completed in 1996. For this reason, we were in the process of replacing all elevators throughout the apartment complex.

[Apartment residents: I had frequent breakdowns. I was working on each line for the first time because I had a lot of breakdowns (lifts). ]

One of the three workers was in the motor room and two were in the elevator.

The elevator crashed and all two people inside were killed.

Workers were replacing wires after replacing the motor.

The police are seeing an accident while cutting old wires and putting new wires on them.

[Choi, Hae - young / Detective Chief of Haeundae Police Station: Fixed on the 17th floor and after removing the existing rope, the worker went up to make a measurement to attach the new rope. ]

Police are paying attention to whether workers have broken down their wires and installed additional safeguards properly.

Whether the emergency braking system, which is a double safety device, is also the key.

The Busan Dongbu Subprefectural Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor is also investigating precise incidents and compliance with safety regulations.
