Borussia Mönchengladbach won its second away game this Bundesliga season. After beating Bochum last year, Gladbach triumphed 3-1 (0-1) in Wolfsburg and was able to turn a deficit into a win. In the table, Borussia jumped to eleventh place, Wolfsburg remains in 14th place.

Wolfsburg got off to a dream start: VfL took the lead in the seventh minute. Tiago Tomas dribbled towards the penalty area, passed to the unguarded Ridle Baku - and he put the ball in the bottom right of the goal from 16 meters.

Curiously, Gladbach's equalizer in the second half also came seven minutes after the restart (52'). The Japanese Kō Itakura shot from 20 meters away and hit the calf of Wolfsburg's Moritz Jenz, the deflected shot went into the goal.

Just a few minutes later, Gladbach was even able to turn the game around: Franck Honorat first let a Wolfsburg player out and then passed to Nathan Ngoumou, who pushed the ball past VfL keeper Pervan into the net from close range (58th). Rocco Reitz made the decision with Gladbach's third goal (88th).
