Head of the Japan Sports Agency Murofushi said in preparation for this summer's Paris Olympics and Paralympics, ``We will build a system to support athletes while utilizing knowledge of sports medicine and science,'' and said that he will create an environment that will support athletes heading into the Games. The plan was to put effort into maintaining the area.

Commissioner Murofushi of the Japan Sports Agency held a regular press conference on the 5th.

Director Murofushi said that in preparation for this summer's Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, ``In order for the athletes to demonstrate their best performance, we will utilize knowledge from sports medicine and other fields to ensure that even after they arrive in Paris. I would like to build a system to support athletes and work to improve their international competitiveness."

According to the Japan Sports Agency, on-site support facilities for the Japanese athletes have been set up since the 2012 London Olympics, but at the Paris Games, facilities were opened near the athletes' village about a month before the opening of the Olympics to prevent athletes from suffering fatigue. In addition to providing a space for recovery and refreshment, the facility will also provide Japanese food and conduct video analysis of athletes' performances.

In addition, in order to support the victims of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake from a sports perspective, Director Murofushi personally visited the affected areas to learn about the information published by the Japan Sports Agency on its website, such as exercise play for children and prevention of health damage. We have expressed our thoughts to make this information known.
