The Championship? Written off. The hope for the Champions League? Available. Anyone who is interested in the mood at German record champions FC Bayern will at least receive obvious answers in the newsletter from world champion Thomas Müller.

“The table situation doesn’t leave much room for speculation,” writes Müller about the seemingly hopeless battle for the championship. »Leverkusen is not showing any weakness and we are not delivering. Unfortunately, the disappointing performance against BVB and the last-minute win by Leverkusen fit into this picture again.

Müller therefore no longer sees a real chance of winning his twelfth title in the Bundesliga. The championship will probably go to Leverkusen, he explains - "frustrated that we haven't managed a better performance and can't show our potential too rarely."

But it wasn't just because of Bayern. For Müller, it was “also important to highlight the Werkself’s performance. To be undefeated at this point in the season is really strong. My congratulations on this successful series. At FCB we now have to eat out the soup that we brought on ourselves.

Hope Champions League

After the exit from the DFB Cup in Saarbrücken and the 13-point deficit in the Bundesliga, the only realistic chance of winning the title remains in the Champions League. “Anyone who followed the draw knows that we probably had the hardest road to the final,” writes Müller. "But maybe that's exactly our path."

FC Arsenal, who have hardly posed any problems for Munich recently, will be waiting in the quarter-finals of the premier class next Tuesday. According to Müller, however, it is “no longer the Arsenal that Bayern have always dealt with confidently in the past. It will be a lot of work, but I am convinced that we will beat the Gunners."

Bayern won the last three meetings in the Champions League 5-1; for example in the round of 16 in 2017 and in the group stage in 2015. However, the Londoners have now developed into a top team under coach Mikel Arteta and are leading the Premier League table with one more game.
