On the 27th, the Japan Sumo Association held a ranking organization meeting for the next summer tournament to be held in May this year, with Abukoku of Abumatsu Stable, Tsukahara Kai Tochi of Kasugano Stable, and Keno Kaze of Oshiogawa Stable. We have decided to promote three new members to Juryo.



Among them, Kaze Keno is 24 years old from Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture. A member of Chuo University's sumo club, he stepped into the sumo ring for the first time at the spring tournament a year ago, and rose through the ranks with his powerful pushing sumo skills.He won the spring tournament in the 13th tournament of the Western Makushita tournament with seven wins. I have decided to be promoted to new juryo.



This is the first time in 29 years that a wrestler from Ehime Prefecture has been newly promoted to jūryō, since former sekiwake Tama Kasuga was promoted after his debut in 1995.



In addition, Abu Kui is a 23-year-old from Mongolia. A member of the sumo club of the powerful Nippon Sport Science University, he won the student yokozuna title in his youth.Last year, he stepped into the ring for the first time at the Kyushu tournament, ranking 15th in the makushita tournament, and was promoted to juryo in three tournaments.



And Omi Tochi, formerly known as Tsukahara, is a 24-year-old from Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture. He won the national individual tournament when he was a junior high school student, and after graduating from Saitama Sakae High School, he stepped into the ring for the first time at the Kyushu tournament in 2017, and was promoted to jūryō in just over six years.



In addition, it has been decided that Chiyomaru, who has experience in makuuchi, will return to juryo.



The first day of the summer tournament will be held on May 12th this year at the Kokugikan in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
