Four people died and at least seven were injured after one of the cars participating in a

rally in Hungary

this Sunday left the road and

crashed into spectators of the test

, the country's authorities reported.

According to a police statement, the car participating in the

Esztergom Nyerges Rally

, in the north of the country, left the road and ended up crashing into spectators, without the causes being known at the moment.

Numerous ambulances and several

emergency helicopters traveled to the scene.

Among the injured

, two of them are seriously injured, one of them a child

, who was evacuated to the hospital with a compromised life prognosis, according to medical personnel cited by the Hungarian press agency MTI.

Immediately after the accident, which occurred between the cities of

Labatlan

and

Bajot

, the race was stopped.

The Hungarian Automobile Sports Federation sent its condolences to the families of the victims and indicated that it would cooperate with the judicial authorities to clarify what happened. Police

are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
