The debts have led to a distressing situation for former soccer player

Cafú

, world champion with Brazil in USA'94 and Japan-Korea 2002 and the first player to play in three consecutive finals. The former winger will have to say goodbye to his elegant villa in

Barueri

, in the Brazilian state of

Sao Paulo

, which will be auctioned on April 4 to make the payments.

Through his lawyers, Cafú has tried to prevent the sale, arguing that it is his house and, as a family asset, it cannot be expropriated. In addition to arguing that the debts would be guaranteed by other assets. But so far he has not managed to overturn the court decision.

It is

a mansion of 2,581 square meters

, on four floors, six suites, swimming pool, 7-a-side soccer field, games room, movie room, trophy room, saunas and elevator. According to the Uol website, the house will be auctioned for what is considered its real value, that is, 40 million reais (

7.4 million euros

). The amount could drop by half (3.7 million euros) if it is not sold.

Already in December, Cafú had to abandon the family villa in

Alphaville

, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Sao Paulo, which was sold for

4.6 million euros

, half of its real value.

Cafú's debts are numerous and total almost 18 million reais (

almost 3.5 million euros

). Thus, a large part of the amount obtained in the auction will be used by the former player to pay creditors. According to the Uol portal, the highest is with

Banco Industrial

, for a total of 4.2 million reais (777 thousand euros). Others are the result of seizures requested by people who have sued the Brazilian.

The nightmare for the former footballer began in

2019

, with the

bankruptcy of Capi Penta International Player

, a company founded in 2004 to manage the careers of agents and footballers in the world of football, in the name of the former right back and his wife (now ex )

Regina

. That year they also experienced the tragic mourning of the death of their son

Danilo

, who died of a heart attack at the age of 30 while playing soccer.
