Argentina will begin its tournament campaign on June 20 in Atlanta, facing Canada or Trinidad and Tobago, who will meet in a playoff to determine one of the two places qualifying for CONCACAF next year.

Then Argentina will face Chile in New Jersey on June 25 in a rematch of the 2016 Copa America final, which was held on the occasion of the centenary of the competition in the United States as well.

Messi then announced his retirement for a short period before reconsidering his decision to continue his international adventure, which culminated in winning the 2021 Copa America and the 2022 World Cup.
