These are moments in which you could question your career choice.

The interview with national player Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen after the away win at SC Freiburg got significantly out of hand for DAZN field reporter Mario Rieker.

At first everything went normally.

Questions about the game, your own performance – routine actually.

At the end of the conversation with Rieker, however, a scene was shown in which Wirtz was standing and talking to two older people on the edge of the stands.

»Nice picture captured of them, they had visitors today.

Is that right?

“Grandma and grandpa?” asked Rieker.

Wirtz smiled slightly painedly and replied: "No, those are actually my parents."

For him, but especially for the streaming provider's reporter, it was obviously an unpleasant situation.

“Ah, oh God!

What a faux pas on my part!

I'm sorry, but best wishes to the parents in any case," said Rieker.

His rescue attempt was also rather unsuccessful when he said about the parents: "But I think they look fresh." Wirtz only briefly commented on this with "yes, yes."

Father Hans is also an advisor to the 20-year-old.

"I can't get out of this situation," said Rieker, embarrassed.

He thanked Wirtz for the conversation and sent the offensive player congratulations on the 3-2 win in Freiburg.

Wirtz and the reporter shook hands at the end.

Wirtz had already given the guests the lead in the second minute.

After Ritsu Doan's equalizer (10th), Adam Hlozek (40th) scored again for Leverkusen in front of 34,700 spectators.

Patrik Schick, the acclaimed match winner three days earlier in Bayer's spectacular last-minute advance against Qarabağ Ağdam in the Europa League, made a remarkable improvement (53').

Yannik Keitel shortened the score again for Baden (79').
