Teruyuki, who has experience in the makuuchi sumo tournament and who excited the ring with his excellent movements and dynamic shio-maki, has decided to retire.

Teruyoshi of Isegahama stable is 29 years old from Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture.

He was born on Awaji Island on January 17, 1995, the same day the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake occurred, and first stepped into the ring at the spring venue in 2010.

He became popular with fans for the way he dynamically sprinkled salt in his hands, and although he was a small soldier who was less than 1 meter 70 centimeters tall, he rose up the ranks in sumo wrestling with his quick movements and shallow turns. .

He became a new Juryo at the first place in 2017, and made his debut at the spring place in 2019. At the Nagoya place in 2019, he had a good record of 12 wins and 3 losses and won the fighting spirit award, and the following autumn. In terms of location, I was ranked up to 3rd place, which is my highest ranking.

However, his performance has been poor recently, as he was demoted from the sekitori position he had held for about five years to the makushita in last spring's tournament, and the current tournament, which was ranked 36th in the western makushita tournament, has been closed since the first day. On the 18th, I submitted my retirement notification to the Japan Sumo Association and it was accepted.

Teruyoshi is scheduled to hold a press conference on the 19th to explain the reasons behind his decision to retire.
