  The Snooker World Open was born in 1982 and is the oldest snooker professional ranking tournament besides the World Championships.

In 2012, the World Open came to China for the first time.

In 2016, the World Open settled in Yushan, Shangrao, Jiangxi.

  This World Open is the finale of this season's Chinese events. The total prize money has been increased from 772,000 pounds in 2019 to 815,000 pounds, and the championship bonus has been upgraded to 170,000 pounds.

The event is hosted by the Chinese Billiards Association, the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Shangrao Municipal People's Government, and is hosted by the Yushan County People's Government and Jiangxi Xingpai Sports Development Co., Ltd.
