Jürgen Klopp took out his frustration about his failed chance to win the FA Cup on a TV reporter.

"That's a bit of a stupid question," said the Liverpool FC coach in an interview with the Danish streaming service Viaplay after the 3:4 after extra time in the quarter-finals at Manchester United.

Klopp was asked why his team no longer played with their usual intensity in the final stages of the game.

"I'm pretty disappointed with this question, but you obviously thought it was a good one," Klopp added after pointing out the Reds' many games this season.

When the TV reporter wanted to follow up, Klopp interrupted him and said: "You're apparently not in good shape and I don't have any nerves for you." Then the 56-year-old broke off the interview.

Klopp didn't want to blame his team after the spectacle on Sunday.

"We tried absolutely everything, but today we didn't get enough - not to say nothing," said the Reds coach, who was leaving at the end of the season, later in the press conference.

Liverpool have recently had a long injury list and have played six more games than their opponents Manchester since the beginning of the year.

It was “absolutely extraordinary what we played here,” said the German, “but we didn’t close the game.

And if you leave it open, away at Old Trafford - it's clear that they'll get chances."

Liverpool loses the game in the last ten minutes

Liverpool missed their third goal after the break and were punished for it shortly before the end of regular time when Antony made it 2-2 (87').

The second-placed team in the English Premier League also failed to take the lead again in extra time by Harvey Elliott (105').

Marcus Rashford (112.) and Amad Diallo (120.+1) turned the game in favor of the hosts.

In the end it was “really hard for us,” said Klopp and continued: “That was the first time that I saw that my team was really struggling.

That's how it is, we've been playing a lot of football lately."

Both teams were fully aware of the importance of the game, he said.

He was happy with the commitment, “but of course not with the result.”

Klopp can still win two more titles with Liverpool in his farewell season after the League Cup triumph.

The championship in the English league is still possible (Liverpool is tied on points with league leaders Arsenal FC in second place), and in the Europa League the favored Reds will meet Bergamo from Italy in the quarter-finals.
