China News Service, Beijing, March 18 (Reporter Liu Xingchen) On the evening of March 17, Beijing time, the 2024 World Table Tennis Professional League (WTT) Singapore Grand Slam came to an end.

In the final men's singles final, Wang Chuqin defeated teammate Liang Jingkun 4:1 and won the championship.

In this competition, the national table tennis team performed well and won 5 championships in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

The Singapore Grand Slam is the first Grand Slam event of WTT in the 2024 season.

The Chinese table tennis team sent a full lineup, and on the basis of retaining the winning lineup of the Busan Team World Table Tennis Championships, Qian Tianyi and Lin Shidong were added to participate.

In order to better prepare for the Paris Olympics, the National Table Tennis Team is further integrating the team and looking for the most suitable lineup for the competition.

During the trip to Singapore, the team originally aimed to win five championships.

On the last competition day, the women's singles and men's singles champions were determined.

Both games were civil wars between players from the Chinese team.

In the first women's singles final, Wang Manyu defeated teammate Wang Yidi 4:1 to win the championship.

After the game, Wang Manyu said, "I am very happy to win the Grand Slam. I am very happy to meet Dadi in the final. I can learn from each other with my teammates. Every game this year is very important, and I especially want to play well in every game."

In the previous World Table Tennis Championships in Busan, the national table tennis women's team suffered a strong impact from their opponents. Especially when the women's team faced the Japanese team in the final, they fell behind with a total score of 1:2.

According to Ma Lin, the head coach of the women's team, after careful consideration, the National Table Tennis Women's Team has optimized its selection methods for Olympic team members.

"Starting from this Singapore Grand Slam and in the next few tournaments, on the basis of the original points, the point deduction mechanism for players losing foreign association matches will be adopted."

After adjustments, the national table tennis women's team performed well in this competition.

Especially when facing opponents from foreign associations, the players showed strong dominance.

The national table tennis women's team occupies six of the women's singles quarterfinals, which is enough to illustrate the problem.

In the men's singles, several players also performed well.

In recent years, the Lebrun brothers have made rapid progress. Previously, the French team led by the two reached the men's team finals of the Busan World Table Tennis Championships.

When facing Alex Lebrun, veteran Malone withstood the opponent's strong offensive and successfully advanced with 3:1.

Facing Japanese player Tomokazu Harimoto, Liang Jingkun achieved a comeback after losing the first two games.

During the game, Liang Jingkun had the advantage in the stalemate and finally completed the comeback.

In the final, Wang Chuqin and Liang Jingkun met.

In this game, Wang Chuqin played more proactively and finally won the championship.

In the final, Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha defeated the Korean combination Lim Jong-hoon/Shin Yu-bin 3:1 and won the championship for the third consecutive year.

As an important training exercise before the Paris Olympics, the performance of the national table tennis team in this competition showed the team's determination and confidence in preparing for the competition.
