Bundesliga soccer team VfL Wolfsburg is apparently separating from its coach Niko Kovač.

The “Bild” and the “Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung” reported this unanimously on Sunday morning.

The club initially did not confirm the report.

According to media reports, the separation will become official later today.

The day before, VfL lost 3-1 at home against FC Augsburg, it was the eleventh game without a win in a row.

Wolfsburg, which started the season with European Cup ambitions, is currently only in 14th place in the table.

With 25 points after 26 games, the factory club has the weakest record in its Bundesliga history at this point.

Kovac has coached VfL Wolfsburg since 2022 and his contract runs until 2025.
