Boxing professional Max Suske dramatically lost the duel for the WBC junior world championship title in his home country.

In front of German trainer icon Ulli Wegner, the 21-year-old collapsed unconscious after a knockout in the second round.

The Stralsund man had to be treated by the ring doctor and then got up again after dramatic minutes to the applause of the spectators.

His opponent Leonel Eduardo Avila from Argentina secured the title in the ten-round fight.

"I'm devastated," said the sad Suske, whose tension was evident in the short fight.

Since the beginning of the year he has "subordinated everything to sport."

“Life is just such that not everything goes according to plan,” lamented the super middleweight.

He now needs “time to process this.”

For Suske, who fought the biggest fight of his career, it is the second defeat in the tenth professional duel.

He is trained by Georg Bramowski, who has looked after Arthur Abraham and Marco Huck at the ring in the past.

Dilar Kisikyol defends lightweight world title

Dilar Kisikyol from Hamburg had previously defended her WIBF lightweight world championship title.

The boxer defeated Argentina's Marisa Gabriela Nunez unanimously on points.

Flensburg's Viktor Jurk made short work of it.

In the duel for the German heavyweight championship title, the 23-year-old won by knockout against Dominic Vial after 33 seconds in the first round.

The boxers Simon Zachenhuber and Peter Kadiru from the Hamburg boxing stable P2M also won their fights.

The 26-year-old heavyweight boxer Kadiru defeated the Argentinian Victor Emilio Ramirez by technical knockout at the beginning of the ninth round after the opponent had given up due to injury.

Kadiru thus secured the IBF intercontinental title.
