The semi-finals of the All England Badminton Open were held on the 16th, and in the mixed doubles match, world No. 3 Yudai Watanabe and Arisa Higashino defeated the Dutch pair in straight sets to advance to the final.

This is the first time in two years that Watagashi has advanced to the finals since she won two consecutive championships in Ototoshi, and she is aiming for her fourth championship in total.



Other Japanese teams that advanced to the finals include Akane Yamaguchi in the women's singles and Chiyo Shida and Nami Matsuyama in the women's doubles.



The men's doubles pair of Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi lost to the Indonesian pair in straight sets and did not advance to the finals.
