Arsenal FC can still win two titles: the leaders of the English Premier League moved into the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a penalty shootout against FC Porto.

FC Barcelona, who prevailed against SSC Napoli, are there for the first time since 2020.

The games in the round of the last eight teams will be drawn on Friday.

The first legs will take place on April 9th and 10th, the second legs are scheduled for April 30th and May 1st.

Arsenal FC recently failed in the first knockout round seven times in a row, and now the club is in the quarter-finals of the premier class for the first time since 2010.

The Gunners beat FC Porto 4-2 on penalties in the second leg.

After regular time and extra time the score was 1-0, the team led by German national player Kai Havertz lost the first leg 0-1.

From the start in London it was a fast-paced encounter with opportunities on both sides.

Leandro Trossard took the lead shortly before halftime (41st minute).

In the second half, Arsenal built up more pressure after a short build-up phase, but missed a few opportunities.

Only the penalty shootout brought the decision.

Havertz converted confidently in the penalty shootout, but former Leverkusen player Wendell missed when he was denied by David Raya.

Then the Spaniard also parried against Galeno.

With German national players Marc-André ter Stegen and İlkay Gündoğan in the starting line-up, Barça beat Naples 3-1 (2-1) in the second leg of the round of 16.

In the first leg in Italy, both teams drew 1-1.

Barcelona were the better team for long stretches and started the game strongly against the Italians, who were struggling in the league.

With a double strike within two minutes, Fermín López and ex-Munich player João Cancelo gave the hosts the lead (15th/17th).

Ter Stegen in goal initially had nothing to do - until Amir Rrahmani suddenly made the connection after a positional error by Cancelo (30).

In the second half, the visitors pushed for an equalizer, which gave Barça opportunities.

The eye-catching Raphinha (55th) failed, teenager Lamine Yamal (16th) was offside when he scored (68th) - he would have been the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Champions League.

Former Frankfurt player Jesper Lindström (80th) missed the best chance to equalize with his head before Robert Lewandowski made the decision after preparation by Gündogan and Sergi Roberto (83rd).
