In the Japanese bantamweight title match held in Tokyo last December, challenger Kazuki Anaguchi, who was 23 years old at the time, lost consciousness after being knocked down four times and losing by decision. He died from a hematoma.



In response to this, JBC decided to establish an ``Accident Verification Committee'' to investigate the cause and make recommendations on how to prevent recurrence.



According to JBC, the committee will be made up of seven members, including lawyers and medical professionals, and will conduct interviews with relevant parties and submit a report to JBC by the 15th of next month.



Based on the contents of the report, JBC will revise its rules and work to prevent recurrence.



In this match, which was held over 10 rounds, Anaguchi was ahead in points in every round other than when he was knocked down, and after the match, JBC said, ``During the interval, he was responding well, and the decision to stop the fight was not made. It was difficult," he explained.
