On the 11th, wrestler Yui Susaki, who has been selected to represent the Paris Olympics, visited the elementary school she graduated from in her hometown, Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, and talked about her enthusiasm.

Susaki won the gold medal in the women's 50kg wrestling category at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, and is aiming for her second consecutive victory at the Paris Olympics, which starts this July.

Susaki visited his alma mater, Matsudo Municipal Mutsumi Daisan Elementary School, and was welcomed with applause by the approximately 340 children at the school.

First, the students were asked questions from representatives of each grade, and the students deepened their interaction by answering questions about how they started wrestling and what they are trying to do to continue winning.

Each child was then given a Japanese flag with a message of support written and pasted on paper shaped like cherry blossom petals in hopes of success at the Olympics.

Susaki said, ``Wrestling is fun and I love it, so I overcame the tough training and was able to come this far.I hope everyone will cherish the feelings of ``having fun'' and ``loving it.'' Ta.

A second-year boy said, ``I want Susaki to win the gold medal.I want to do my best to get better at soccer.''

Susaki said enthusiastically, ``I realized once again that so many people are supporting me.I want to win back-to-back championships and come back to my hometown.''
