Jürgen Klopp criticized the referee after Liverpool FC's 1-1 (0-1) draw in the Premier League title fight with Manchester City.

In stoppage time, Alexis Mac Allister was hit in the chest by Jérémy Doku in the guests' penalty area; there was no penalty despite checking by the video assistant.

“It hit him in the chest,” said Klopp: “Did he touch the ball before?

Yes.

Does it make a difference no matter what position on the field when your leg is that high?”

The officials judged the scene differently, and referee Michael Oliver was not asked by his VAR colleague to go to the monitor to watch the scene himself in slow motion.

"Why would the guy in the VAR studio think, 'Ah, that's not clear and clear'?

What must you have had for lunch if you think that's not clear and clear? "said Klopp.

However, the coach emphasized that he had already come to terms with the outcome of the game.

»I have to talk about it so many times and I really don't care, I'm already over it, it's absolutely fine.

We'd like it, yes, but nothing I say - at least that's what I've learned - will change that.'

Liverpool initially went behind in Klopp's last Premier League duel with City coach Pep Guardiola, but then played an impressive second half in which they equalized with a penalty from Mac Allister.

But it wasn't enough to score the winning goal, although the Reds created numerous good chances.

With the draw, Liverpool ended the day in second place.

On Saturday, Arsenal FC won against Brentford FC thanks to a late winning goal from German international Kai Havertz and benefited from the draw between the other two title candidates a day later.
