SC Freiburg defeated VfL Bochum on matchday 25 of the Bundesliga.

In coach Christian Streich's team's 2-1 (1-0) victory, Austrian attacker Michael Gregoritsch was man of the game.

He set up one goal in Bochum and scored the second himself. Freiburg jumps to eighth place.

The game started slowly, and Freiburg's Ritsu Dōan only scored the first shot on goal in the 24th minute.

But then things got livelier: Although Bochum was the more pressing team, Freiburg took the lead.

After a cross from the right, Gregoritsch headed it for Maximilian Eggestein, who scored his first goal of the season (36th).

Before the break, Bochum wanted a penalty after Matthias Ginter wrestled Bochum's Moritz Broschinski to the ground in the penalty area, but referee Marco Fritz did not award a penalty.

After the break, Freiburg celebrated again: Dōan crossed, again from the right, into the penalty area.

Gregoritsch headed in from close range to make it 2-0 (53').

Game over?

Not quite yet.

Bochum scored through defender Ivan Ordets after a corner.

The Ukrainian scored with his head (62').

It was also his first goal of the season.

However, Bochum was no longer able to equalize, the team remains in 15th place, but is seven points ahead of the relegation place.
