Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson returns to the boxing ring for a fight.

As his opponent Jake Paul, who is 30 years his junior, announced, the fight between the two Americans will take place on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

The football stadium in Texas usually holds up to 100,000 spectators.

The streaming platform Netflix will broadcast the fight between Paul and Tyson live.

Tyson has not fought since facing Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition fight in November 2020.

"My goal is to become world champion and now I have the chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion in the world, the toughest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time," Paul wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

»I'm really looking forward to getting in the ring against Jake Paul«

"I'm really looking forward to getting in the ring against Jake Paul," said Tyson, who was in the audience in Saudi Arabia last year when Paul lost to Fury.

"He has developed significantly as a boxer over the years and it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a 'kid' can do with the experience and skill of a GOAT."

However, it is still uncertain whether this fight will be a real professional fight or an exhibition fight, especially given Tyson's age, who turns 58 in July.

The details still need to be approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which regulates the sport of boxing in the state.

The now 57-year-old Tyson last fought in November 2020 in a not entirely serious fight against Roy Jones Jr. and managed a draw.

He is probably the most feared boxer of his generation and won 50 of his 58 professional fights, 44 by knockout alone.

Paul built a significant following as a YouTube influencer before embarking on a professional boxing career four years ago.

He has won nine out of ten fights with six knockout victories against mostly insignificant opponents.

His only defeat came last year against Tommy Fury, the less successful half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

For Paul, the fight against legend Tyson is primarily intended to make his name better known and to earn a lot of money.

From a sporting point of view, the duel has hardly any value.
