  • England's Manchester City (defending champion):

    defeated Denmark's Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate over two home and away matches.

  • Spanish Real Madrid (tournament leader with 14 titles):

    beat Leipzig 2-1 on aggregate in the home and away matches.

  • Bayern Munich of Germany (6-time champion of the tournament):

    beat Lazio of Italy 3-1 on aggregate in the home and away matches.

  • France's Paris Saint-Germain (looking for its first title):

    defeated Spain's Real Sociedad 4-1 on aggregate over two home and away matches.

Remaining teams:

  • Porto defeated its guest Arsenal with a clean goal in the first leg of the quarter-finals

  • Barcelona tied with its host Napoli 1-1 in the first leg of the quarter-final

  • Inter Milan defeated its guest, Atletico, with a clean goal in the first leg of the 16-final

  • Dortmund tied with host PSV Eindhoven 1-1 in the first leg of the round of 16
