The Japan Sports Association surveyed its member organizations on the participation status of female executives and found that the percentage of female directors in central sports organizations exceeded 30% for the first time this year.

Regarding the appointment of female executives, the Japan Sports Agency compiled the "Sports Organization Governance Code" in 2019, setting a goal of increasing the proportion of women on directors, who are significantly involved in decision-making of organizations, to 40% or more.



According to the Japan Sports Association, this fiscal year, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting 126 member organizations of the association, and responses were received from all organizations.Of these, 68 central sports organizations that oversee organizations nationwide have no female directors. The average percentage was 30.2%, an increase of over 4 points compared to the previous year.



This is the first time that the average proportion of female directors in a central sports organization exceeds 30%.



On the other hand, the average proportion of directors of all organizations including prefectural sports associations is 25.4%, and only 22 organizations (approximately 17%) have achieved the 40% or higher target set by the Japan Sports Agency. I stayed.
