According to its own statement, Serbia made an attempt to steal the talent Aleksandar Pavlović from FC Bayern from the German Football Association (DFB).

A delegation from the Serbian Association (FSS) led by team director Stevan Stojanovic was in Munich last weekend and, according to their own statements, had “intensive and constructive discussions” with the 19-year-old and his parents.

Pavlović was born in Munich to Serbian parents and could play for both Germany and Serbia.

According to Stojanovic, the family was shown a clear plan to call up the midfielder for the international matches against Russia and Cyprus in March.

The answer was that Pavlović wanted to make a decision about his future after the European Championships in Germany (June 14th to July 14th).

"We completely understand that," said Stojanovic and announced: "We will stay in touch (...) and hope that he will wear the Serbia jersey from autumn." Pavlović himself has not yet responded to the alleged meeting expressed.

Can Uzun decided against Germany

If Pavlović were nominated for the European Championships by German national coach Julian Nagelsmann, that would probably mean a decision for the DFB team.

Most recently, Pavlović described the opportunity to play for the German national team at the home European Championships this summer as a “dream” on “T-Online”.

“That would be very nice.” Serbia has also qualified for the European Championships.

So far this season, Pavlović has made 14 competitive appearances for Bayern and played for the German U20 last November.

According to a report from the TV channel Sky, Pavlović will be nominated for the upcoming appearances of the German U21s.

U21 coach Antonio Di Salvo has observed Pavlović, who could still play for the U20, in the stadium several times, most recently on Tuesday in the Champions League against Lazio Rome (3-0).

Even after playing for the U21, Pavlović would still be eligible to play for the Serbian senior national team.

Most recently, 18-year-old Can Uzun from 1. FC Nürnberg decided against a future in the German national team and for Turkey.
