What does the upcoming sports weekend have to offer?

Of course, FC Bayern Munich is competing in the Bundesliga for the first time since coach Thomas Tuchel announced his separation, with the top game against RB Leipzig taking place on Saturday.

But there is so much more to see, marvel at, perhaps even celebrate.

An overview:

The Istaf Indoor in Berlin

The 11th Istaf Indoor begins in Berlin in the evening.

In the arena at Berlin's Ostbahnhof, some of the best track and field athletes compete against each other in a total of eight disciplines.

Among those taking part is Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo, who secured the German indoor championship last weekend in Leipzig with a jump of 6.93 meters.

2nd Bundesliga top game: St. Pauli visits Holstein Kiel

Holstein Kiel and FC St. Pauli open the 23rd matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga with a top game on Friday.

The two teams are currently only separated by three points: with a win against the first team in the table, Kiel could draw level.

St. Pauli's coach Fabian Hürzeler told dpa: "It's a game that only brings three points." (Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m.; TV: Sky).

The Olympics are at stake

So far it has been up and down for the women in the DFB selection: sometimes convincing like the 3-0 win against Denmark in December, then disappointing like the 0-0 win against Wales a few days later.

In the evening, interim national coach Horst Hrubesch and his team will be fighting for their Olympic ticket.

At 9 p.m. (live on ARD) France is waiting for the DFB team in the semi-finals of the Nations League final tournament.

If you lose, you still have a second chance in the game for third place against Spain or the Netherlands.

ATP tournament in Los Cabos: Alexander Zverev wants to win his first title of the season

In Los Cabos, Mexico, Alexander Zverev will play against Australian Jordan Thompson on Saturday morning (5:00 a.m. German time) for a place in the final: After the 26-year-old ended in the semi-finals at the Australian Open earlier this year, he now wants his first singles title win of the year.

With a win, Zverev would meet Casper Ruud (Norway) or Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) in the final.

Chasing the title in winter sports

At the weekend, winter sports fans can look forward to, among other things, Ramona Hofmeister in the snowboard giant slalom.

At the World Cup on Saturday in Poland (1:45 p.m., ARD), the 27-year-old starts 31 points behind overall leader Tsubaki Miki (Japan).

Gold for Germany is also at stake in the two-man bobsleigh on Saturday (2.30 p.m., ARD).

The focus is on a newcomer: Junior World Champion Adam Ammour, who, together with his pusher (and brother) Issam Ammour, is considered a serious competitor for the favorites Francesco Friedrich and Johannes Lochner.

Decision in the championship race?

Thomas Tuchel and FC Bayern are going their separate ways at the end of the season.

With RB Leipzig, a tough opponent comes to Munich on Saturday evening in the top game (6.30 p.m., Sky).

If Leverkusen wins at Mainz this evening and Bayern drop points again, the fight for the championship could be decided early.

Title fight in England

Matchday 26 is coming up in the Premier League, and the final of the Carabao Cup between Chelsea and Liverpool will be played at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (4 p.m., DAZN).

Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip are injured at Liverpool, but Jürgen Klopp still wants to win his first title of the season.

Debut for Steffen Baumgart as HSV coach

In the second division game between Hamburger SV and SV Elversberg on Sunday (1.30 p.m.; TV: Sky), the focus is primarily on Steffen Baumgart.

Just a few days ago he took over as coach at HSV.

When he introduced himself, Baumgart was optimistic: "We still have St. Pauli and Kiel at home and with this team we are capable of beating anyone."

Top game in the handball Bundesliga

It's only been two weeks since SG Flensburg-Handewitt and Füchse Berlin faced each other in a catch-up game on matchday 12, with the Berliners narrowly winning 32:31.

Both teams will meet in the second leg on Sunday (3 p.m., stream: DYN).

The decisive factor will be whether Flensburg can rely on their top goalscorer Emil Jakobsen, who has already scored 122 goals this season.

Three wins for the 2025 European Championship

The German national basketball team will meet Bulgaria in the European Championship qualifiers on Sunday (4 p.m.).

Because almost all World Cup heroes are spared, there is a great chance for young stars like debutant Malte Delow to show themselves and perhaps get a place in the Olympic squad.

The qualifying game against Bulgaria will be broadcast free of charge in the Magenta Sport live stream.
