Hiroki Kokubo, manager of professional baseball team Softbank, summarized the spring training camp in Miyazaki City and said, ``I'm glad there were few injuries.I want to identify players who will be in good condition for the opening day.''

SoftBank's spring training camp, which has been held in Miyazaki City since February 1st, was raining on the 23rd, so the players trained for two hours at an indoor practice facility.

The whole practice was then kicked off with a hand tightening performed by player president Yukyo Shuto.

Coach Kokubo summarized the camp and said, ``I'm glad that there weren't many injuries. It rained a lot, but I think we were able to come up with the menu we had in mind.''

He cited three players who left an impression on him: Keisuke Nakata, a third-year player, Rimitsu Ogata, a fourth-year player, and Tomoto Kawamura, a third-year player.

Coach Kokubo highly praised him, saying, ``Last fall, I told him how he would become a player under control, but I thought he would change this much.''

The camp will end on February 29th, and we will continue to improve our team's strength through overseas games.

Coach Kokubo said, ``It's important to have a quick start, so I'd like to identify players who will be in good condition for the opening day.''

Softbank's open game has been scheduled since March 2nd in preparation for the season opening on the 29th.
