Coach Thomas Tuchel from FC Bayern Munich assumes that, despite the job guarantee from his boss Jan-Christian Dreesen, there will be intensive discussions about him in the next few days. Dreesen's confession was "of course nice," said Tuchel after the 2-3 defeat in the Bundesliga at VfL Bochum: "I doubt whether it helps that the discussions don't take place."

He continued to say to the journalists present: “But that’s not a problem. You can do that. That’s the deal.”

Tuchel wants to avoid discussions

The defeat against Bochum was the third defeat in a row. The 0:3 in the top game against Bayer Leverkusen was followed by a 0:1 in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Lazio Rome. In the Bundesliga, Bayern are already eight points behind leaders Leverkusen and are facing their first titleless season in twelve years.

Tuchel has been criticized in recent weeks for his tactical experiments in the lineup or his dealings with leading players.

The discussions about him and his job have been going on “for what feels like the whole season. Even when we won games," said Tuchel and continued: "For a few weeks now, I've reached the point where it no longer affects me. I focus on what I can influence. That’s the only recipe I know.”

Dreesen first evades and then commits to Tuchel

Bayern CEO Dreesen initially responded awkwardly when asked about the coach. He doesn't think "of these monstrous statements of support for trainers" because "these oaths of loyalty are usually over after a week."

But Dreesen also said: "This is not a topic that we are currently dealing with." And when asked whether Tuchel would still be Bayern coach next week, he said: "Of course."
