A training course was held at a ski resort in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, to learn how to assist people with foot disabilities on chair skis from behind.

Chair skis have a chair attached to the top of the skis, allowing people with leg disabilities to sit down and ski. I need to get it.

On the 18th, a seminar for chair ski assistants was held at a ski resort in Takayama City, and about 20 people, including people with disabilities and their families, participated.

After the participants took a lift to the top of the slope, the instructor guided them slowly down the slope using an auxiliary bar attached to the back of the chair ski.

Next, the participants skated carefully while receiving advice from the instructor, such as ``It's important to communicate by calling out to them before turning.''

A man in his 40s from Takayama City who participated with a child with a leg disability said, ``It was difficult to control it because it was going so fast.Until now, I had only been able to go sledding with my child, but I was able to go skiing with him.'' So I'm happy," he said.

Kentaro Arai of the Takayama City Social Welfare Council, who held the seminar, said, ``I hope that people will not give up on skiing because they have a disability, but will be able to enjoy it together with the local people.''
