The favorites
Bob:
In recent years, German athletes have mostly fought for the gold medal among themselves. This year too, there are many indications among men that record world champions
Francesco Friedrich
or
Johannes Lochner
will bring the world title to Germany in both the two-man and four-man bobsleigh. Well-known competition comes from Switzerland:
Michael Vogt
was able to draw attention to himself with notable successes in the World Cup.
There are also many signs that Germany will win medals for the women:
Lisa Marie Buckwitz
and
Laura Nolte,
however, have to prevail in the monobob against the strong American
Kaysha Love
. In the two-man bobsleigh, a German triple success is even possible.
Nolte, Buckwitz
and
Kim Kalicki
take the top three places in the overall World Cup rankings.
Skeleton:
German athletes have also been writing their own success stories in skeleton for years.
Christopher Grotheer
, Germany's first skeleton Olympic champion and five-time world champion, is also the favorite in the competition in Winterberg. He is in the lead in the overall World Cup before the World Cup. Tina Hermann, 31, is already aiming for her eighth world title, her biggest competitor is
