China News Service, Ulanqab, February 18 (Reporter Zhang Linhu) "Winning two silver medals a few days ago was indeed a bit stressful. After winning the award today, I relaxed a lot. I adjusted my mentality, did the details well, and just enjoyed the process." Meng Fanqi of the Jilin team said this after winning the gold medal in the women's 15-kilometer individual event in the open category of the "14th Winter" biathlon on the 18th.

On the morning of the 18th, Meng Fanqi defeated Hebei team player Chu Yuanmeng, who held two gold medals, with an advantage of 1 minute and 20 seconds. She won the gold medal with a time of 52 minutes, 55 seconds and 8 seconds. This was also her first National Games championship. The bronze medal in this project was won by Yang Lianhong of the Liaoning team.

In the women's 7.5-kilometer sprint and 10-kilometer pursuit races in the biathlon open group held a few days ago, Meng Fanqi won two silver medals, while the gold medals in both events were won by Chu Yuanmeng.

Meng Fanqi said that the first three groups of shooting performed well that day, but the last group of shooting was not stable. "Because I was tired and my body was a little shaking, I was quite satisfied with the gliding."

Unlike the sunny days of the past few days, strong winds blew at Ulanqab Liangcheng Ski Resort on the morning of the 18th. The cold weather forced the players to continue to warm up before the game to maintain good competition condition.

Chu Yuanmeng, who has trained with Meng Fanqi since childhood, said that competitive sports need excellent competitors, and they encourage each other to improve. "Without each other, our achievements would not be moving forward like this." Chu Yuanmeng said.

Later in the competition, Yan Xingyuan, the men's 10-kilometer sprint gold medalist in the biathlon open category, once again outsmarted the crowd and won the men's 20-kilometer individual title in the biathlon open category with a time of 1 hour, 26.7 seconds.

During the competition, Yan Xingyuan did not perform well in the first group of shooting, but in the second group, he performed at a normal level through the coach's reporting and adjusting the shooting hit point by himself.

"My teammates on the national team all performed very well, especially my 'big brother' Cheng Fangming. We have been rivals and teammates for many years, and I hope he can achieve better results." Yan Xingyuan said.

Jian Kaige of the Inner Mongolia team playing at home won the silver medal in this event, and Wuhantu of the Heilongjiang team won the bronze medal.

"Playing at home, seeing the spectators and staff cheering for me, I feel very excited. Only in my hometown and my own local game can I have this feeling, which makes me more energetic. I hope that through my own efforts , create better results for ourselves and our hometown." Jian Kaige said.

Biathlon combines cross-country skiing and shooting, requiring athletes to have the ability to convert between dynamic and static phases. (over)
