In Rugby League One, two games were played in Round 7 of Division 1, where the leader Saitama Panasonic Wild Knights came from behind to beat Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath, extending their winning streak from the start of the tournament to 7 games.

Division 1 of League One resumed play for the first time in three weeks on the 17th, following an exchange match with teams from the southern hemisphere league Super Rugby Pacific.



In a top-level showdown between the first-place Wild Knights and the third-place Sun Goliath, the Wild Knights trailed by seven points, but in the 16th minute of the second half fullback Ryuji Noguchi's try gave them a two-point lead, and in the 21st minute, standoff Rikiya Matsuda scored a penalty goal. In the other match, Toyota Verblitz scored eight tries to beat Mie Honda Heat 54-7.



Verblitz has 19 points with 4 wins and 3 losses, while the Heat have lost their first seven games and have no points yet.
