A week after being provisionally suspended by the International Athletics Federation (World Athletics) for skipping three anti-doping controls,

Mohamed Katir

was sanctioned this Friday with two years of disqualification, the maximum punishment.

The sanction runs from February 7, 2024 to February 6, 2026 and although the athlete may appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, it is considered very difficult for him to be in both the Paris Olympic Games this summer and in the European outdoor.
