Pitcher Shintaro Fujinami, who was transferred to the Major League Baseball Mets, joined the team's practice at a camp site in Florida, and practiced in matching uniforms with his new teammate, pitcher Kodai Senga.

On the 15th, pitcher Fujinami joined the Mets' battery camp in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Fujinami, who had become a free agent from the Orioles, had just announced on the 14th the previous day that he had signed a one-year contract with the Mets, but at practice he wore a blue uniform with the number "19" on his back. He warmed up and worked up a sweat on the field with his teammate, pitcher Chiga.

Pitcher Fujinami played catch for about 15 minutes after general practice to make adjustments.

Pitcher Chiga and pitcher Fujinami were teammates on the Japanese national team at the 2017 WBC = World Baseball Classic, but this is the first time they will be affiliated with the same team.

Regarding Fujinami's addition, Pitcher Senga said, ``We've gone out to dinner together in the past, but this is the first time we'll be on the same team, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of baseball we'll talk about from now on.I want Fujinami to grow even more.'' That's why I think we can build a good relationship if we can talk and improve each other.''
