The star and captain of the French team, now 25 years old, arrived in Paris in 2017 from Monaco. He had extended his lease in 2022 until 2024, but refused last summer to activate a clause allowing him to stay an additional year at PSG.
“The conditions of departure must still be fully agreed,” adds the same source, and the club and Mbappé will officially communicate “when everything is finalized, in the coming months.”
Questioned by AFP, PSG refused to comment.
Top scorer in club history
Mbappé will therefore leave PSG free, but the player and his management negotiated an agreement last summer according to which the striker waived part of his bonuses on his contract to the tune of “several tens” of millions of euros.
After seven seasons at PSG, Kylian Mbappé, who has become the top scorer in the club's history, will discover a new horizon. Real Madrid, the club that has made the player dream since his childhood, is now the big favorite to welcome him.

According to a source close to the matter, the native of Bondy and the Madrid club have already entered into negotiations. On several occasions – in 2019, 2021 or even 2022 – the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, tried to sign the star striker, each time being refused.
For the Parisian club, it is an era of uncertainty which will begin with the departure of its main star. The capital club had indeed made the extension of the striker a priority.
