A hair cutting ceremony for Itsunojo, a former sumo wrestler and makuuchi champion, was held in Tokyo, where fans and related parties mourned his retirement.

Itsunojo is a 30-year-old from Mongolia who is 1 meter 91 cm tall and weighs 219 kg, one of the best in the sumo world, and he won his first championship at the Nagoya tournament in 2015.

However, due to a long-standing lower back injury, he retired before last summer's tournament, and on the 11th, he had a haircut ceremony at a hotel in Tokyo.

At the ceremony, more than 400 people, including fans who applied on social media and parents who came from Mongolia, put in their scissors.

At the end, as I could not hold back my tears as I heard the cheers of ``Itsu no Shiro'' erupting from the venue, Principal Yoshiyoshi Ishiura, who is the general manager of the sumo club at his alma mater, Tottori Johoku High School, cut off his big tabs and said, ``It's been a long time.'' I said goodbye to my life.

Itsunojo, who was interviewed during his haircut, said, ``I'm glad I had a good hair cutting ceremony.Everyone called me ``Itsunojo'', so I couldn't hold back my tears because I thought this was the last time.'' .

He also looked back on his career as a sumo wrestler thus far, saying, ``Being able to beat Yokozuna and win the championship, I felt like I was opening a new page within myself.''

After his retirement, Ichinoshiro, who is no longer with the Japan Sumo Association, said about his future, ``I've been focusing only on the hair cutting ceremony, so I want to think about it from now on.''
