After an exceptional start with Real Madrid this season, English star Jude Bellingham faces a state of goal barrenness during the recent matches played by the Merengue.

The attacking midfielder is not finding the net with the same regularity as he did earlier in the season.

During his first three months at the Santiago Bernabeu, Bellingham broke many scoring records, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo, Alfredo Di Stefano and Zinedine Zidane, but he was unable to score in open play for nearly two months.

The player who won the Golden Boy Award for Best Young Player of the Year 2023 did not score any goal from open play in his last 8 matches with the Royal Club.

Since his last goal from open play on December 17, Bellingham has scored only one goal from a penalty kick against Almeria last January.

Earlier, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said that Bellingham finds many opportunities in attack despite being a midfielder, and that his lack of a fixed position on the field causes a lot of damage to opponents.

But what Ancelotti pointed out is no longer an advantage after the opposing defenses have learned how Bellingham plays and how to limit his danger, as he has become surrounded by 4 defenders at times.

In an attempt to reduce the pressure on Bellingham, Ancelotti said recently, “He is a great player, and we cannot be surprised when he does not score. This is not his job as some people think.”

Bellingham participated in 28 matches with Real Madrid this season in various competitions, during which he scored 18 goals and assisted 8 goals.
