At Chunichi's professional baseball camp in Chatan Town, Okinawa Prefecture, Seiya Hosokawa, who hit a team-leading 24 home runs last season, is working on improving his batting technique while practicing.

The 25-year-old Hosokawa was transferred from DeNA to Chunichi in the active draft, and last season he reached the regular bat for the first time in his seventh year, hitting 24 home runs and scoring 78 RBIs.

He is working on improving his batting technique with the goal of hitting 30 home runs this season, and is using a bat that is about 1 centimeter longer than usual when batting to the tee, trying to teach his body to swing with the head.

According to Hosokawa, learning how to swing a long bat in a flexible manner will lead to stronger hits.

On the 8th, after general practice, we practiced batting with batting coach Kazuhiro Wada, who we have been coaching since last year, and the practice time was nearly 10 hours from the morning.

Hosokawa said, ``I'm practicing every day because I want to get better.I want to improve my level and get better results in the first team.''
