Orix shortstop Kotaro Kurebayashi celebrated his 22nd birthday on February 7th. With a powerful swing that doesn't waver, he strives to increase the number of long hits.

Benibayashi, who has been playing professionally for five years, celebrated his 22nd birthday on February 7th, and was presented with a cake by his coach after practice.

A so-called large shortstop who is 1.87 cm tall and weighs 94 kg, he played in 127 games last season and posted a batting average of .275, sixth in the Pacific League.

This season, our goal is to increase his long hits by taking advantage of his unique distance.

At camp, we are looking for a form that lowers his center of gravity and keeps his axis steady.

He took about 70 swings during batting practice on the 7th, with five going over the fence.

The form seemed to be taking shape little by little.

What we are looking forward to beyond camp is to build a core team that aims to win four consecutive championships, and a batter who can hit a lot of extra-base hits and score RBIs.

Kubayashi expressed his enthusiasm, saying, ``My goal is to be No. 3, and I want to have a season where I can gain the trust of the coach. And someday, I want to be the RBI leader.''
