The Jordanian national team celebrates after the second goal scored by Al-Taamari (French)

Jordan reached the final of the Asian Football Cup for the first time in its history after a 2-0 victory over South Korea in the semi-finals at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium on Tuesday.

Yazan Al-Naimat scored the first goal in the 53rd minute after a pass from Musa Al-Taamari, who scored the second goal about 13 minutes later.

Jordan controlled the match from the beginning, but South Korean goalkeeper Jo Hyun-woo saved his net in the first half from repeated Jordanian threats, the most dangerous of which was Al-Naimat's shot from close range after skillfully evading the Korean defense.

Captain Son Heung-min thought he had scored a goal for South Korea after about 19 minutes of play, but it was not counted for offside, before the video assistant referee canceled an “incorrect” penalty kick awarded to the team coming from East Asia.

The striker Al-Naimat gave coach Hussein Amouta's team the lead with a shot over goalkeeper Hyun-woo after the Montpellier striker recovered the ball in the middle of the South Korean field.

Al-Taamari increased the score with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area after a wonderful individual effort in which he overtook the South Korean defenders from the middle of the field.
