Nigeria deprived of its best player in the semi-finals? It would be a hard blow for the Super Eagles: striker Victor Osimhen, hit "in the abdomen", is very doubtful for the semi-final of CAN 2024, Wednesday against South Africa, according to a press release published Monday 5 February evening.

According to the Super Eagles spokesperson, Osimhen is suffering from abdominal discomfort, and that he did not take the plane with the rest of the team on Monday evening to go to Bouaké, where the the semi-final, Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The 2020 Marc-Viven Foé Prize also did not train before the team left Abidjan.

“The team doctors confirmed that he had been placed under close surveillance and that a member of the medical team had remained in Abidjan with him,” Babafemi Raji said.

Hit several times during the tough duels against Angola in the quarter-finals on Friday, Osimhen was replaced at the end of the match.
