The athlete

David Pérez Bruque

has died at the age of 18, as confirmed by the Manresa Atlètic Club, to which he belonged, in a statement that does not cite the causes of his premature death.

"It is with great sadness that the family wants to announce that today David's light has gone out. We know how lucky we have been to be able to share so many moments with him. Like a good sprinter, he has gone quickly, discreetly and silently. Thank you for everything, thank you therefore!!", collects the text of his club.

A statement that was immediately echoed by both the Catalan Athletics Federation and

the Spanish Federation

. "A little over a year ago, David Pérez Bruque was at the U18 European Championship in Jerusalem defending the colors of #SpainAthletics Today, with all our pain, we regret his death. RIP, David. Our most sincere condolences to his family, friends and everyone Catalan athletics," says the text published by the second.

Born in 2005,

David Pérez Bruque

was a sprinter and hurdler and was considered one of the most promising young people in Catalan and Spanish athletics. With the national team he had participated, in the 400 meter hurdles, in the European Under-18 Championships that were held in June 2022 in Jerusalem.
