The Hiroshima professional baseball camp had its first day off on the 5th, and the three new players enjoyed locally caught eel and tuna to replenish their tired bodies with energy.

The three rookies, pitcher Taichi Taka, who was drafted second in the first team, Kazuki Takita, who was ranked third, and pitcher Takeshi Akatsuka, who was fifth, started camp with the first team on the 5th, their first day off, in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture. At our dormitory, we watched a tuna dissection show.

The players watched intently as the tuna that had just been landed at a local fishing port was being cut on the 3rd, and after the butchering show, they munched on red sashimi to refuel their tired bodies from four days of practice. Replenished.

The three of them then went to an eel restaurant in the city and tried their hand at catching eel. Despite being run away from the slippery eel many times, they finally managed to catch it with their bare hands and were all smiles.

Then, they grilled eel farmed in Miyazaki Prefecture over charcoal, carefully coated it with sauce and finished it as kabayaki, served it in a bowl and enjoyed it, enjoying their first day off as professional baseball players.

Pitcher Taka said, ``The eel slipped and was difficult to catch.I want to ``win'' the hearts of the fans by showing them playing baseball energetically.I want to eat a lot of delicious tuna and eel and rest my body.'' I did.
