On October 21, the Russian defended his lightweight championship title for the second time in a row in fights with Australian Alexander Volkanovski. At a tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE), he defeated the fighter by knockout in the first round.
The 32-year-old fighter has 25 wins and one loss in mixed martial arts.
The title fight between Topuria and Volkanovski will take place on February 17 in Anaheim (USA).
Yang previously sparred with Volkanovski before the fight with Song.
