At Tsubaki Daijinja Shrine in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, sumo wrestlers from the Sadogatake stable are throwing beans on Setsubun. I participated with Master Sadogatake.



Kotonowaka, who appeared in the form of a Kamishimo, scattered beans and sweets, as well as ``fuku fans,'' which are said to bring good luck, after the chief priest chanted, ``Fortune is inside, demons are outside.''

According to the shrine, approximately 4,000 people gathered this year, 1,000 more than in previous years, and some children held up papers with handwritten words that read "Ozeki Kotonowaka."



A woman who has been a sumo fan for six years and came from Suzuka with her family said, ``I really wanted to meet Kotono Wakazeki.He has a lot of spirit on the ring, but when he gets down, he's kind.I want him to rise even higher.'' Ta.

Kotonowaka said, ``I threw my best because I wanted to spread the word to as many people as possible.I felt like I would be called an ``Ozeki'' instead of a shikona.I want to do my best for the next venue so that I can live up to expectations. ” he said enthusiastically.
