Ademola Lookman scored a goal in the first half to lead Nigeria to a 1-0 victory over Angola and qualify for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations on Friday.

The only goal of the match came in the 41st minute after Moses Simon started from the left side and then sent a low cross pass to Lookman, who fired a powerful shot from inside the penalty area into the roof of Angola's goal.

The Angola national team threatened Nigeria's goal early, 5 minutes after the start, with Mabulolo's shot from close range, but goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili brilliantly saved it before the referee ruled a violation for offside.

Victor Osimhen thought he had doubled the lead for Nigeria with a powerful header before the referee canceled his goal due to offside on the Napoli striker, who was happily celebrating.

The Angola players did not succeed in threatening Nigeria's goal after that, and the match ended with the victory of the continent's champions three previous times.
