Japan Football Association President Kozo Tajima held a press conference and reiterated his intention to withdraw Junya Ito, who had been announced to be withdrawing from Japan's Asian Cup national team following some reports. Chairman Tajima explained, ``We made a comprehensive decision after considering Ito's condition.''

Regarding Ito, ``Weekly Shincho'', published on the 1st, reported in June last year that two women were sexually assaulted by Ito at a hotel in Osaka.

According to people involved in the investigation, the two men filed a complaint with the Osaka Prefectural Police in January, and in response, Ito also filed a complaint on the 1st, alleging the accusations are unfounded.

Both have been accepted.

Regarding this, Japan Football Association President Tajima held a press conference in Tokyo on the 2nd and said, ``After consulting with Coach Moriyasu, it has been decided that Ito will withdraw from the Japan national team for the Asian Cup.''

Ito's departure was reconsidered at one point due to the players' desire to continue competing, but ``We need to hold meetings with experts and lawyers and create an environment where he can focus on soccer.'' We made a comprehensive decision after considering Ito's condition."
