A 23-year-old fighter who lost the Japanese professional boxing bantamweight title match held in December last year by being knocked down in the fourth round became unconscious after the match and passed away on the 2nd.

The person who passed away was Kazuki Anaguchi, a 23-year-old athlete who belonged to the Shinshin Gym in Kobe City.

Anaguchi competed in a Japanese bantamweight title match held at Tokyo's Ariake Arena on December 26th last year, and was knocked down four times, including being punched in the face, and lost by decision.

According to JBC (Japan Boxing Commission), Anaguchi lost consciousness in the waiting room after the match and was taken to a hospital in Tokyo. He was diagnosed with a right subdural hematoma and underwent emergency surgery, but he did not regain consciousness and it took two days. It is said that he died in the evening.

In the 10-round match, Anaguchi was knocked down in the fourth, seventh, ninth, and final tenth round, but was ahead in points in the other rounds.

JBC, who is in charge of the match, explained, ``During the interval, they were responding well, so it was difficult to make the decision to stop the match.''
