Saudi Arabia missed two penalty kicks to bid farewell to the Asian Cup, losing 4-2 on penalties to South Korea - today, Tuesday - in the tournament’s eighth-final at Education City Stadium.

The original and extra time of the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Abdullah Redeef scored the lead goal for Saudi Arabia in the 46th minute, moments after he came on as a substitute for striker Saleh Al-Shehri between the two halves of the match.

Cho Gyu-sung equalized the score in the ninth minute of the match with a header from close range that went into the net.

South Korea will face a difficult test in the quarter-finals against Australia, which qualified for this round after its 4-0 victory over Indonesia last Sunday.
