According to the court decision, the period of disqualification begins on December 25, 2021.

Valieva will be deprived of Olympic gold for winning the team tournament.

On December 25, 2021, on the day of the free program at the Russian Championship, the Russian woman passed a positive doping test for the prohibited drug trimetazidine.

This became known after the team tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where the figure skater won a gold medal as part of the Russian team. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) refused to hold an award ceremony for medalists in team competitions.

At the beginning of 2023, the RUSADA disciplinary committee decided to acquit Valieva and only annulled her victory at the 2022 Russian Championship.

Then the International Skating Union (ISU) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) took turns filing appeals with CAS against RUSADA's acquittal verdict against the athlete, insisting on a lengthy disqualification.

Earlier, journalist Vladislav Zhukov revealed which versions were considered at Tutberidze’s headquarters after the start of the investigation into Valieva’s doping case.
